A Little Treat With A Little Caramel

...And Bananas! Ha, I caught your attention at the "caramel" didn't I?

The important thing here is this dessert is so quick and easy to make at home! We are using extremely simple ingredients: a little butter, a touch of cinnamon, and bananas! It's a treat not only because it's so yummy and comforting, but also it doesn't take much effort to make it fresh. It's very versatile as you can eat this on its own, as a topping on your favorite ice cream, with butter cookies, pancakes or waffles if you feel extra fancy.

So shall we?

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter

  • 4 Tablespoons Brown Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 4 bananas, sliced horizontally into halves, or chopped into 1 inch pieces

Steps:

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet pan on medium heat;

  2. Once the butter has melted, line the pan with all the sliced or chopped banana pieces in one layer, flat side down;

  3. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon all over the pan. Some will land on the bananas and some in the butter, but it doesn't matter!

  4. Continue to cook until the sugar has melted, turned darker, and become bubbly, aka caramelized;

  5. Serve the caramelized bananas on its own, or with ice cream and other goodies!

Note: You may call this a simple and light version of the traditional dessert Banana Foster.
