The little one came back home today screaming hungry, as he does every day.
As he went to the snack cabinet and started stuffing chips and candies into his mouth, I realized it was time to use my oven magic, and whip up some real food FAST!
If your children are like those in my house, you'd kill for a FAST way to make home-made pizzas, wouldn't you!
Did I hear "take-out"? Well the time it takes you to order and wait for the delivery is easily 30 minutes! That means a bag of chips plus two lollipops and who-knows-what-kind-of junk food that does nothing but to kill your growing children's appetite.
Someone mumbled "frozen pizza"? Well you see, the problem is I happen to have none in my freezer today.
Even if I did, this new method still beats the frozen pizza!
Because it takes only 5 minutes! Not ten, five! Give me you paw...
So, here it goes!
Very important ingredients:
Naan, or Pita bread
Any topping
Olive oil
(optional) Pizza or pasta Sauce
Very key steps:
Assemble the pizza any way you like, eg., we usually brush the bread with some olive oil, then tomato sauce, and layer on top: Cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese (some soft cheese plus some hard cheese).
Turn the oven on to "BROIL", NOT "BAKE"! This is important, because it doesn't take time to pre-heat the oven, so it cooks fast!
Put the pizza in a pizza pan (not pizza stone, as there is no pre-heating), broil for 5 minutes. Adjust the time based on your oven, and how under/well cooked you want your pizza.
The older kid came home and said: this is a flat bread!
Pizza, flat bread...whatever...just eat!
Very critical to remember:
IT'S HOT! YUMMY, AND HOT!
MORE IMPORTANTLY, IT TASTE AS GOOD AFTER COOLING DOWN.
